Albert Einstein Exhibit in Medellin Colombia

In Medellin’s Parque Explora is an amazing exhibition and tribute to the life and work of Nobel-prize-winning physicist Albert Einstein, who was the discoverer of relativity theory and many more important fundamental ideas in modern physics.

The Einstein Exhibit contains his life story, including the incredible influence that Einstein has had on world culture. His iconic image is used continuously in various media, his facial features are imitated in order to create a look of intelligence and wisdom (such as Yoda from Star Wars), and the museum has a fascinating video collage of commercials from many countries that use his likeness to hawk very commercial products.

In addition, many of Einstein’s letters to various interesting people have been duplicated and put on display.

One of the best exhibitions within Parque Explora is the Biologico Exhibit, which features rainforest creatures from throughout Colombia.

Included in the exhibit is this golden poison dart frog shown above, which is the world’ most venemous frog.

Several species of tarantulas, including truly huge ones, are living here as well.

A medium sized boa, and a huge anaconda, along with many other beautiful snakes, are among the favorites of the crowd.

One of the most spectacular places in Medellin is the El Parque Explora, which consists of many exhibits centered around a courtyard full of robotic rubber dinosaurs. They are life-size dinosaurs, animated, and you can touch and play with them. A few of them have erratically swinging rubber tails that the kids love to dodge.

Most of the most popular dinosaurs are on display, including a life-size anamatronic Tyrannousaurus Rex, a Triceratops, velociraptors, brachiasaurus, and many more.

Medellin Aquarium (El Acuario)

The amazing aquarium in Medellin is part of the Parque Explora in the center of Medellin.  It’s known to be the best aquarium in South America, and has both freshwater and saltwater sections.

Most or all of the aquatic species displayed here are from Colombia itself, which is one of the world’s most biodiverse countries because it’s an evolutionary melting pot between North America and South America. Colombia spans the continent and so it has both Caribbean and Pacific species, both of which are represented in the Medellin Aquarium.

Some of the most spectacular species shown include the spectacular lionfish, river piranhas, clownfish swimming within the tentacles of stinging anemones, rays, and a very spectacular tank with a sculpted river tree root system.

We highly recommend this as it’s also included in the price of admission of the Parque Explora, which has lifestyles animatronic dinosaurs for kids to play on, and many other spectacular exhibits.
